Wait..... It's September?!

Hello!!!! I feel like August just flew past! Do you? But August was, well, pretty unlucky for us.

First off, my brother had a poison ivy rash from head to toe. Then, we found a bullseye rash on his arm, and he was at the doctor three times. All this happened about two weeks ago.

Then, two weeks ago,Tuesday, August 26, my sister was scootering down the hill, and a car went past, and scared her. She tried to stop, but fell, and rammed her left arm into the ground and broke it. Daddy took her to Med Express, and they put it in a splint and a sling, and yesterday, she went to a specialist, and got a plaster cast.

On last Saturday, the baby..... did something, and no one knows what happened, but there's a huge gash in her tongue. Or was. It's almost better now.

Now, the climax. Monday morning, Daddy took me in to do blood work. Since we were in town anyway, we stopped at the library to pick up a DVD (Anne of Green Gables) that we had ordered. But. The DVD would not start. We tried for 30 minutes to get it to start, on the computer, the laptop, everywhere. Fine, I thought. I'll just make soft pretzels instead.

But this makes really small batches, so I made four batches, and that filled two cookie sheets. Anyway, I had about two pretzels left to shape, when I knocked a cup off the counter, and it shattered. I decided that I would quickly finish my pan of pretzels, and then clean it up. Well, you can probably guess what happened. I forgot that I had broken a cup, turned to wash my hands, and stepped into the mess. I cut my heel up pretty bad, and I'm not even going to put in a picture of my heel, because it looks so gross it's unbelievable. One of my friends almost threw up when I showed her the picture. I didn't walk till Wednesday, at least not without the help of my lovely crutches. It's pretty much better by now, but if I walk too much, it starts to hurt again.

Well, wish us luck. I'm just waiting for the house to burn down, or something. Bye!!

My Life Recently

Hi!! How have you all been since my last post?! I am sorry to say that I did not receive enough stories to host a short story contest. *sighs* Sorry! I have also changed my blog background. I do a double-take every time I see it, but I love it. I won't be able to post very much this summer; we have a massive garden that needs tending (😒), and I am also being snared for lawn-mower duty more and more frequently- much against my will. But I'll try to post maybe twice a month (I know that's not a lot, but I have trouble thinking of posts. *sigh*) If you have any ideas for blog posts PLEASE, either email me with the "Email Me" form on the right sidebar, or comment on the latest post. If you would like me to add your blog to the blog list, also on the right sidebar, comment, or email, and I'll put it up there. Now I'll share a little bit of what I've been doing the past week or so. First, our library is still not open. But you can go on their website, and look up books, and if they have them, you can order them. Then they call you and set up a convenient to come and pick up your books. We did that, and yesterday we went to pick up our books. They had them on a table outside, in plastic bags with your name on them. Imagine our disappointment when we realised there was another bag that we forgot to get!!! We also went to a HUGE yard sale, where we found a bunch of books, and to a bookstore, where we got 37 Nancy Drew books for a great bargain, plus a bunch of classics. Then, we sat around and read all day long (Hey, we were rolling in books! It was a dream come true!). This morning we went to the park. That's where we've been having church lately. And then we went to Wendy's for lunch, and then came home to read some more! That's about the only thing that has happened lately that is of interest- getting FIFTY new books in one day. What have you been doing lately?  ~Caitlyn
