Hey guys. I have not posted in forever! Sorry about that! We started school on Monday. Why is it that the first day, you love school but the next 179 days are agony? It makes no sense!

I got a ukulele on Saturday, and have been plinking around the house all day ever since. I can play, "You Are My Sunshine," but that's about the extent of my repertoire ;)

I got new ink for my fountain pen. The second most satisfying sound in the world is the sound of a fountain pen scratching across paper...... Ahhhhh.

The most satisfying sound in the world is...... my typewriter!! I  have an old fashioned one, one you don't plug in or anything. I love it so much. There is only one problem. If you mess up, the only thing you can do is put X's across it.

My little sister does not know what to think of us doing school. Of course, she doesn't remember last year. She wasn't even one then. This morning, she just walked in circles around the house, and cranked. She fell of a chair, which added to her displeasure. She scribbled on our school work, and chewed an eraser off a pencil. We have those twisty erasers, and there was an extra one, and she got it. But that wasn't enough. Oh no. She HAD to have three of them in her hands, or she threw a major tantrum. She's so funny and cute and fat😍. She'll get used to us sitting around the table every morning. I hope.

In other news, I have been reading "The Witch of Blackbird Pond," by Elizabeth George Speare, and "Anne of Ingleside," by Lucy Maud Montgomery. The witch of blackbird pond is not about an actual witch; it's about a girl back in the 1700's. She could swim, so everybody thought she was a witch🙄. It's a really good book. And, of course, Anne of Ingleside is the sixth book in the Anne of Green Gables series.

Have you started school yet? Have you ever read The Witch of Blackbird Pond, or Anne of Ingleside? Have you ever written anything with a fountain pen or typewriter? Do you play any instruments? Comment below, and tell me!

  7. I made my older kids read The Witch of Blackbird Pond. Kind of a boring book, but it was on the history list for reading for our homeschool that year. Tiny print and lots of long narration. Boo. I'ts not on my favorites list.

  8. Really? Our copy has large print. But I don't like books with tiny print AT ALL!
